Bondi Discloses Probe into Trump Rivals and Epstein Ties

On Friday, the Attorney General assigned Jay Clayton to lead an inquiry into political adversaries of Donald Trump and their links with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came hours after the president instructed her to begin the investigation.

During an announcement, Bondi praised Jay Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. She remarked, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This action contrasts with a recent memorandum from federal authorities which declared that the Epstein files lacked grounds for further inquiries. According to the document, investigators “lacked sufficient evidence to pursue cases against other parties.”

Trump Demands Focus on Democrats in the Epstein Matter

The announcement coincides with growing demands from Trump on congressional Republicans to block the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Several lawmakers are expected to support the release.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have spotlighted the president’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.

That same day, the President announced he would direct the DOJ to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “deception”.
