Netflix Casts Ideal Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a adored, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to change into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.

The new cast member will work alongside multiple fresh additions who will portray the group to life, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Though the role is a important part of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
